If you love Caribbean seafood, you will love this recipe for Jamaican Style Caribbean Shrimp. These shrimp have a deliciously sweet yet spicy taste that will make your mouth water. Similar to the Jamaican jerk flavor, these shrimp are crispy, full of flavor and absolutely delicious! wait until you try them!
Large Measuring Cup
Medium Mix Bowl
Deep Frying Pan
Place your prepared raw shrimp in a bowl.
In a large mixing cup, mix together flour, corn starch, chili powder and paprika.
Pour the flour mixture over the shrimp and stir until the shrimp is completely coated.
Then sprinkle the Caribbean seafood seasoning onto all of the shrimp.
In a blender, mix water and minced garlic together. Slowly pour it over the coated shrimp stirring it until each shrimp is coated with a creamy pancake like batter. Place the bowl of shrimp into the refrigerator for about 45 minutes to marinate. This will help set the coating onto the shrimp before you deep fry them.
In a deep-frying pan, fill it about 1/2 with oil, then heat it to 350 degrees. Place small batches of the shrimp in into the hot oil, cooking them 2 to 3 minutes per side until they are crispy and golden brown. Then place them on a baking sheet lined with paper towels to drain and cool.
Serve on a bed of thinly sliced red onions and with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
