Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 lbs. Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 Cup – Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 Tbs Ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp Dried Onion Flakes
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire

Gravy

  • 1 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Pepper Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Medium Chopped Yellow Onion
  • 2 Cups Sliced Mushrooms
  • 2 Tbs Minced Garlic
  • 4 Tbsp melted Butter
  • 4 Tbsp Flour ( you can add more to thicken the gravy if needed)
  • 4 Cups Beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together lean ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Then shape them into oblong patties.
  2. In a skillet on med-high heat, brown both sides of the patties for about 2 minutes on each side, leaving them partially cooked. Remove patties from the pan and set aside. In that same pan, add 1-2 Tbsp of Olive Oil to the drippings and sauté diced onions and mushrooms. Cook for about 5-6 minutes or until onions are translucent, then add minced garlic and stir for another minute. Add butter to the pan; when melted, add flour and cook for two to three minutes, then slowly stir in your beef broth and add Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Bring the gravy to a simmer, then add the patties back into the pan.
  3. Turn your stove down to low, cover, and let simmer for 20 minutes, occasionally basting them with the gravy. Flip the patties over, baste again with sauce and continue cooking for about 20 more minutes until they are done.
