French Dip Sliders

French Dips on a plate dipping into Au jus

These French Dip Sliders are easy-to-make. Tender roast beef, provolone on sweet Hawaiian rolls, they’re perfect for game day or any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb. Deli Roast Beef (thinly sliced)
  • 10 Slices Provolone Cheese
  • 12 Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 1 Stick Unsalted Butter (melted)
  • 3 Tbsp. Salted Butter (melted, divided)
  • 1 Medium Sweet Onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 Tsp. Black Pepper
  • 1 Packet Dried Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 Packet Au jus Gravy Mix
  • 3 cups Water
  • Parsley for Garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Remove the rolls from the package, leaving them intact. Take a large knife and slice the rolls in half so the tops and bottoms are separated. Pre-grease a 11×8 baking dish with half of the salted butter and place the bottom of the rolls with the cut side up into the baking dish.
  3. Place a layer of half of the provolone cheese onto the bottom half of the rolls. Then add a layer of roast beef, then add the onions, and the remaining cheese. Place the top half of the rolls on top.
  4. In a small bowl, stir together the melted unsalted butter and onion soup mix. Drizzle and brush this mixture on top of the rolls evenly. Cover loosely with foil, (make sure the foil is not touching the tops of the rolls) and bake it for 25 minutes.
  5. While the sliders are baking, prepare the au jus gravy mix according to the package instructions with the water. Bring it to a boil, stir in black pepper, then remove from heat.
  6. Remove the foil and baste the tops of the rolls with the remaining salted butter. Place it back in the oven uncovered and let it bake an additional 5 minutes until the tops are golden brown. Remove the sliders from the oven. Garnish the sliders with parsley and serve with Au jus on the side for dipping.
